Preparation
- Chop the onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Rinse the beans and set aside.
Cooking
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground meat until fully cooked. Drain any excess liquid and transfer the meat to your crockpot.
- Add the chopped onion, garlic, bell pepper, black beans, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper to the crockpot.
- Pour in the broth, mixing everything until well combined.
- Cook in the crockpot on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Before serving, taste and adjust the seasonings if necessary.
Serving
- Ladle the chili into bowls and add your favorite toppings.
Notes
For deeper flavor, add a few drops of lime juice before serving. You can also experiment with different beans or add corn for sweetness. Avoid overloading the crockpot.
