Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel to ensure a crispy coating. Season with salt and pepper.
- In one bowl, place the flour. In another bowl, add the beaten eggs. In a third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
Coating
- Dip each chicken breast into the flour, shaking off the excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any extra to drip off.
- Finally, coat the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing down gently so it adheres well.
Baking
- Place the coated chicken on the prepared baking sheet and lightly spray the tops with cooking spray.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden brown.
- Once the chicken is done, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs. Let the chicken rest after baking to retain juices. Experiment with your favorite herbs or spices. Monitor cooking time to prevent overcooking.
