Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough
  • 1 cup cream cheese Softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup butter Softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Optional Topping
  • Powdered sugar for dusting Optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and butter. Use a hand mixer or a sturdy wooden spoon to beat them together until creamy and smooth.
  3. Add the granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, and mix until well blended.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, place dollops of dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space in between.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, once they are completely cool.
  3. Enjoy your cookies with a warm cup of tea or coffee!

Notes

To keep cookies fresh, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Cookies can be frozen for up to three months.
