Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 oz Chow Mein Noodles Cooked according to package instructions
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil For sautéing
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 cups Cabbage Shredded
  • 1 cup Carrots Julienned
  • 1 cup Bell Peppers Sliced (any color)
  • 4 tablespoons Soy Sauce Ensure it’s halal
  • ½ cup Green Onions Chopped (for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. Gather all the ingredients and ensure chow mein noodles are pre-cooked according to package directions.
  2. Chop all vegetables to ensure they cook evenly.
Cooking
  1. In a large wok or skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  2. Add minced garlic, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.
  3. Toss in the shredded cabbage, carrots, and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes, until they are just tender but still crisp.
  4. Add the cooked noodles to the vegetables, gently tossing to combine.
  5. Drizzle soy sauce over the mixture, continuing to toss everything together evenly for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and top with chopped green onions for an added burst of flavor.

Notes

Top Tips: Use traditional chow mein noodles, don’t overcook vegetables for a delightful texture, and feel free to add proteins like chicken, beef, or tofu. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
