Ingredients

Brownie Base Ingredients
  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Cheesecake Layer Ingredients
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, 1 egg, and 1/4 cup of vegetable oil. Mix until well combined. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Make the Cheesecake Layer
  1. In another bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with 1/3 cup of sugar and 1 egg. Add the vanilla extract and blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gently fold in the chocolate chips to the cream cheese mixture.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Spoon the cheesecake mixture over the brownie base. Use a knife or spatula to swirl the cheesecake batter gently into the brownie batter for a beautiful marbled effect.
  2. Place the pan in the oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean. Keep an eye on them toward the end!
  3. Once baked, allow the brownies to cool in the pan. Then lift them out using the parchment paper and slice them into squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days or freeze for up to three months. Thaw in the fridge or microwave individual squares for a warm treat.
