Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 small ripe cantaloupe, cubed Ensure it's ripe for the best sweetness.
  • 1 cup cheese of your choice (feta or mozzarella work wonderfully) Feta provides a bolder flavor; cut into equally sized cubes.
  • to taste Fresh mint leaves, chopped Adds a refreshing twist; can also use whole leaves for assembly.
  • as needed Skewers (wooden or reusable) Ensure they are sharp for easier assembly.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by slicing your cantaloupe in half. Scoop out the seeds, then cut the flesh into bite-sized cubes. Make sure to eat any leftover pieces.
  2. While your cantaloupe is waiting, cut your cheese of choice into equally sized cubes.
Assembly
  1. Grab your skewers and start assembling. Begin with a cube of cantaloupe, followed by a cube of cheese, and finish with a mint leaf. Repeat until the skewer is filled.
  2. Place the assembled skewers on a serving dish and sprinkle additional mint leaves for extra color.
Serving
  1. These can be enjoyed immediately or chilled in the refrigerator for a bit to let the flavors meld.

Notes

For substitutions, try goat cheese instead of feta or mozzarella. Use honeydew melon for a different taste experience. Prepare these skewers close to serving time for optimal freshness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
