  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (halal)
Dry Ingredients
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Add-Ins
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes (or peppermint candies) For a festive touch

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until smoothly combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring until fully blended.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed candy canes into the dough.
Baking
  1. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto your prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
Cooling
  1. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them fresh.
