  • 2 slices slices of bread (whole grain, white, or sourdough) Choose your favorite type.
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise For spreading on the bread.
  • 1-2 leaves lettuce Fresh leaves for crunch.
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced Adds freshness and flavor.
  • 1 slice cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your favorite) Choose as per your liking.
Optional Fillings
  • as desired slices sliced turkey, chicken, or any other halal-friendly protein Customize your sandwich.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all the ingredients on a clean surface.
  2. Lightly toast the bread slices if you prefer a crunchy texture.
  3. Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
Assembly
  1. Place the lettuce leaves on one slice of bread.
  2. Add the sliced tomatoes on top of the lettuce.
  3. Place a slice of cheese over the tomatoes.
  4. If using, add any additional protein on top of the cheese.
  5. Top with the second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down, and press gently.
  6. Slice the sandwich in half and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcrowding the sandwich. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in foil at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
