  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Use more for topping if desired.
  • 28 ounces frozen tater tots For extra crispy texture, pre-cook them briefly.
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced pickles
Sauce Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and white vinegar to create the creamy sauce.
Assembly
  1. In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spread the cooked beef mixture evenly across the bottom.
  2. Drizzle half of the prepared sauce over the beef, then sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese on top.
  3. Arrange the tater tots in a single layer over the cheese.
Baking
  1. Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  2. Let it cool for a couple of minutes, then top with the remaining cheese, shredded lettuce, diced pickles, and the rest of the sauce.

Notes

Serve with a side salad or veggie sticks for a balanced meal. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days.
