Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown) Cooked according to package instructions.
  • 1 cup ground beef Can be substituted with ground chicken or turkey.
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, spinach, bean sprouts) Blanch just before assembling.
  • 2 pieces eggs Optional for frying sunny-side up.
Flavoring Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • to taste Gochujang (Korean chili paste) Adjust according to spice preference.
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the rice according to package instructions, preferably using a rice cooker.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks.
  3. Add soy sauce and sesame oil to the cooked beef and stir to combine.
  4. Blanch mixed vegetables in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until tender but vibrant. Drain and set aside.
  5. If using eggs, fry them sunny-side up until whites are set and yolks remain runny.
Assembly
  1. In a bowl, place a portion of rice at the bottom, layer with seasoned ground beef, mixed vegetables, and fried egg.
  2. Add Gochujang to taste and mix well.
  3. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.

Notes

You can store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For best results, keep rice and toppings separate when freezing. Reheat in the microwave or stir-fry to maintain texture.
