  • 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced thinly Slice against the grain for tenderness.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Blanch briefly to retain crispness.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup beef broth Use Halal-certified broth if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the beef sirloin thinly against the grain.
  2. Blanch the broccoli florets in boiling water for 2 minutes, then rinse under cold water.
  3. Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and beef broth in a bowl to create the sauce.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  2. Add sliced beef and cook until browned, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Pour in the sauce mixture, stirring until it thickens slightly.
  4. Add the blanched broccoli and mix until heated through.
Serving
  1. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve hot, ideally over rice or noodles.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze in portions for up to a month. Reheat in a pan or microwave with a splash of water to prevent drying.
