Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Wash, peel, and core your apples. Slice them into thin wedges, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Open the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. Place a few apple slices at the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll the dough around the apple slices and seal the sides tightly.
Assembly and Baking
- Place the dumplings in a greased baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Stir until well blended, then pour over the dumplings.
- Pour the Sprite or lemon-lime soda over the dumplings.
- Bake for about 30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let the dumplings cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For different flavors, substitute pears for apples. Watch the dumplings closely to prevent burning. Ensure apple slices are thin for better cooking.
