Ingredients
  

For the Crust
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs Ensure they are finely crushed
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter (melted) Melted for easy mixing
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar For sweetness
For the Cheesecake Filling
  • 24 oz cream cheese (softened) Bring to room temperature for smooth mixing
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Adds sweetness to the filling
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For flavor enhancement
  • 3 large eggs At room temperature
  • 1 cup sour cream Makes the filling rich and creamy

Method
 

Prepare the Crust
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until well combined.
  3. Press half of this mixture into the bottom of a greased springform pan.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and set aside to cool.
Make the Cheesecake Filling
  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.
  2. Gradually add in the sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Finally, add the sour cream and beat until the mixture is creamy and fluffy.
Assemble the Cheesecake
  1. Pour the cheesecake filling over the baked crust in the springform pan.
  2. Sprinkle the remaining graham cracker crumb mixture over the top in an even layer.
Bake the Cheesecake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 55-60 minutes, until the edges are set, and the center has a slight jiggle.
  2. Turn off the oven, crack the oven door, and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for one hour.
Chill and Serve
  1. After cooling, refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours before serving.
  2. Once chilled, slice and serve with your favorite toppings, if desired.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for best results. Avoid overmixing after adding eggs to prevent cracks. Storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
