Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set but the center is still soft.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to a week. You can freeze cookies for up to three months. For a fresh-out-of-the-oven feel, microwave thawed cookies for 10-15 seconds.
