  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Can be replaced with coconut oil for a Halal option.
  • 2 large eggs Flaxseed meal mixed with water can be used as an egg replacement.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring Essential for the signature color.
Optional Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips Optional addition.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  3. In another bowl, melt the unsalted butter and let it cool slightly. Then add the eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, whisking until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. If using, fold in the white chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
  2. Once fully cool, cut them into squares and enjoy!

Notes

For toppings, consider cream cheese frosting or powdered sugar. Brownies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or frozen for 2-3 months.
