  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a standard loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, brewed coffee, and vanilla extract and whisk until smooth.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in the dark chocolate chips gently.
  7. Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  2. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serving
  1. Once cooled, slice the bread and serve warm.

Notes

For dairy-free option, substitute with plant-based butter and eggs with flaxseed meal mixed with water. Store tightly wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
