Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to mix, but be careful not to overwork the meat to keep it juicy.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty, about an inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb.
Cooking
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, aiming for an internal temperature around 160°F.
- In the final minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover the grill or skillet to let it melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster while cheese is melting.
Assembly
- Spread mustard and mayonnaise on the bottom bun. Top with the cheesy beef patty, dill pickles, and finally the top bun.
Serving
- Serve your Cuban Beef Burgers with your favorite sides and enjoy!
Notes
If substituting meat, try Halal ground chicken or turkey. Avoid pressing down on patties while cooking to keep them juicy. For leftovers, store cooked patties tightly in the fridge or freeze them for later use.
