Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), ensuring your baking sheets are ready.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips (or your chosen add-ins) until evenly distributed.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked; that’s perfect for that soft texture!
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. Freezing unbaked dough balls is possible, they can last up to three months in the freezer. Reheat in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds, or in a low oven (around 300°F) for a few minutes.
