  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • Provolone cheese (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by slicing the onion and mincing the garlic.
  2. Rub the beef chuck roast generously with salt and pepper.
  3. If desired, sauté the onion and garlic for a few minutes until fragrant.
Cooking
  1. Place the seasoned roast in the crockpot. Add sliced onions and minced garlic on top.
  2. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the beef is fork-tender. For quicker cooking, set it to high for 3-4 hours.
  4. Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks directly in the crockpot, mixing it with the broth.
  5. Spoon the shredded beef onto sub rolls and top with provolone cheese if desired.
  6. Serve with a side of flavorful beef broth for dipping.
