  • 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces Choose quality cuts for better flavor.
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups beef broth Low sodium may be preferred.
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional) Mushrooms add extra flavor.
  • 2 cups egg noodles Can substitute with preferred noodles.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For a richer sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.
  • for garnish Fresh parsley Optional, for aesthetics.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by seasoning the beef stew meat with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add a dash of oil, and sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Transfer the beef, sautéed onion and garlic, sliced mushrooms (if using), beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce to the crockpot. Stir everything together!
  2. Cover and set the crockpot to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the beef is tender.
  3. About 30 minutes before serving, add the egg noodles and heavy cream into the crockpot. Stir well to combine.
  4. Cover and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes, or until the noodles are cooked al dente.
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve.

Notes

For added flavor, consider browning the beef before cooking. You can also switch up the vegetables or thicken the sauce with cornstarch if desired. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days in the fridge or frozen for 3 months.
