Preparation
- Start by trimming any excess fat from the beef chuck roast and cut it into large chunks.
- Slice the halal kielbasa sausage into bite-sized pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix.
Cooking
- Layer the beef, sausage, and pepperoncini in the bottom of the crock pot.
- Sprinkle the seasoning mix over everything.
- Pour the beef broth over the top to ensure everything is moistened.
- Cover the crock pot and set it to low for 6-8 hours or high for about 4 hours, until the beef is fork-tender.
- Once done, shred the beef with a fork and mix it into the sauce before serving.
Notes
For a lighter meal, substitute kielbasa with halal chicken or turkey sausage. Make sure to slice the sausage properly, and don’t skip the pepperoncini for authentic flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
