Method
Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, crab meat, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well until evenly incorporated.
- Take about a tablespoon of the mixture and shape it into small balls or patties. You should be able to make around 12–15 bites.
Coating
- Pour breadcrumbs into a shallow dish. Dip each crab bite into the beaten egg, allowing the excess to drip off, then roll it in the breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
Frying
- In a frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the crab bites in the oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Cook for about 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
Serving
- Remove the bites from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
If leftover, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10-15 minutes until crispy.
