Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup cottage cheese Make sure to drain excess liquid for better texture.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Add to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper Add to taste.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter For frying.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Can use gluten-free breadcrumbs as a substitute.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by draining excess liquid from the cottage cheese to achieve the right texture. Place it in a bowl and add the salt and pepper to taste. Mix well to combine.
Breading
  1. Set up a breading station. In one bowl, add your breadcrumbs, and in another, set the cottage cheese mixture. Take spoonfuls of the cottage cheese mix and form small patties or balls—whichever shape you prefer!
Coating
  1. Roll each patty in the breadcrumbs, gently pressing to ensure they stick well.
Cooking
  1. In a non-stick frying pan, heat the olive oil or butter over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the coated patties into the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, let them rest on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or fresh herbs on top!

Notes

For variations, you can swap in crushed nuts for extra crunch. Avoid overcrowding the pan when frying, and ensure completely draining the cottage cheese for best results. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
