Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2 lbs turkey wings – trimmed and washed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil – for that crispy shine
Spices
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder – adds depth
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder – for flavor richness
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika – for a hint of smokiness
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper – spice it up
  • 1 teaspoon salt – brings everything together
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper – optional for heat Add for extra spiciness.
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs (like rosemary or thyme) – for an aromatic touch

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This is critical to achieving that golden brown color and crispiness.
  2. Pat the turkey wings dry with paper towels; this helps with achieving maximum crispiness.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the olive oil and spices until well combined. Coat the turkey wings evenly with the spice mix.
  4. Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they are spread out evenly, as this helps the heat circulate around each wing.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45–50 minutes, or until the wings are golden and crispy. Remember to turn the wings halfway through baking for equal texture.
  2. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature has reached at least 165°F (74°C).
  3. Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve hot, and watch your family devour them!

Notes

For a gluten-free option, ensure that your seasoning mixes don’t contain any gluten ingredients. You can also try using alternative oils like avocado oil for different cooking properties. Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet to achieve that coveted crispiness. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3–4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for best texture.
