Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Use an electric mixer to cream these together until the mixture is light and fluffy—about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing at a low speed until combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving enough space between each cookie.
Baking
- Place the cookies in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
For best results, avoid over-baking. If you’re out of butter, coconut oil can be used as an alternative. Cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week.
