Preparation
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, vegetable oil, and granulated sugar. Once the mixture comes to a boil, remove it from the heat and stir in all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until fully combined and a dough forms.
- Allow the dough to cool for about 5 minutes so you can handle it without burning your hands.
- Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. If you don't have a piping bag, a zip-top bag with a corner snipped off will work too! Pipe small bite-sized pieces onto parchment paper.
Air Frying
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Once heated, place a few churro bites in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t touch.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
- Combine cinnamon and sugar in a shallow dish. Once the churro bites are cooked, immediately toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Enjoy warm with your favorite dips or chocolate sauce!
Notes
For flavor variations, consider infusing your dough with a pinch of nutmeg or even vanilla extract. Keep a close eye on your churros to avoid overcooking; the perfect churros are golden and fluffy! If the dough is too sticky, add more flour; if it’s too dry, a splash of water can help.
