Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 large chicken breasts about 1 to 1.5 pounds total
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour seasoned with spices
  • 2 large eggs whisked
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs preferably whole wheat
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • cooking spray or olive oil to coat

Method

Preparation
  1. Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about ½ inch using a meat mallet or rolling pin to ensure uniform cooking.
  2. In three separate bowls, prepare your breading station: mix flour with spices in Bowl 1; whisk eggs in Bowl 2; pour breadcrumbs into Bowl 3.
Breading
  1. Dredge each chicken breast in the seasoned flour, shake off excess, dip in egg wash, and coat with breadcrumbs, pressing down to adhere.
Air Frying
  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray and arrange the chicken breasts in the basket.
  2. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (75°C).
Serving
  1. Remove the chicken from the air fryer, let it rest for a few minutes, and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces or toppings.

Notes

For gluten-free options, substitute all-purpose flour with almond flour and use gluten-free breadcrumbs. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket for optimal crispiness. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days; freeze for longer storage.
