Ingredients

For the crust
  • 2 cans crescent roll dough Use refrigerated dough for best results.
For the pizza topping
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey (Halal) Can substitute with ground chicken or vegetables for a healthier option.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning Follow packet instructions for best flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to use other cheese varieties.
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes Use fresh or canned tomatoes.
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce Add more toppings like jalapeños or green onions if desired.
  • ½ cup sour cream For topping before serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay it flat on a baking sheet. Press the seams together to form a solid crust.
Cooking the Beef
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add your ground beef or turkey. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Stir in the taco seasoning with a little water as per packet instructions. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until thickened.
Assembling and Baking
  1. Spread the seasoned meat evenly over the crescent roll crust. Sprinkle cheese on top.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Once out of the oven, add your diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and any other desired toppings.
  2. Slice your taco pizza, add a dollop of sour cream on each piece, and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra crispy crust, bake the crescent roll base alone for about 5 minutes before adding the topping. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, reheating in the oven for best results.
