Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure the danishes bake evenly.
- On a clean, flat surface, unroll the crescent roll dough into a rectangle. Pinch the seams together to create a uniform sheet of dough.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Cut the dough into triangles according to the pre-scored lines. Place a heaping tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture on the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll up each triangle from the wide end to the point, tucking the tip underneath the pastry.
- If desired, beat the egg yolk and brush it over the danishes for a beautiful golden color once baked.
Baking
- Place the danishes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- Allow the danishes to cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
Notes
To store any leftovers, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in toaster oven or microwave.
