Ingredients

Filling ingredients
  • 1.5 cups pumpkin puree (fresh or canned)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Crust
  • 1 pre-made pie crust Use a tart pan for best results.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for an even bake.
  2. Place the pre-made pie crust in a tart pan, pressing it gently against the edges for a snug fit.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, melted dark chocolate, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Use a whisk to blend until smooth and creamy.
Baking
  1. Carefully pour the filling mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
  2. Place the tart in the preheated oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes. The edges should look set, but the center may still have a slight jiggle.
Serving
  1. Once out of the oven, allow it to cool completely before slicing. This dessert is best served chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Consider using bittersweet chocolate for a deeper flavor or coconut cream for a dairy-free version. Make sure to let the tart cool completely before serving to enhance the texture.
