Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 medium medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth (ensure it's Halal-certified)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup Halal turkey bacon, crumbled or leave it out for a vegetarian option
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by peeling and dicing the potatoes into small, uniform pieces to ensure even cooking.
  2. Chop the onion and mince the garlic to add sweetness and warmth to the soup.
Cooking
  1. In your slow cooker, add the diced potatoes, chopped onion, minced garlic, and Halal-certified chicken broth. Stir well to combine.
  2. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Cover your crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for about 4 hours, depending on your schedule.
  4. Once the potatoes are tender, stir in the heavy cream and cheese until melted and well incorporated.
  5. If using crumbled Halal turkey bacon, mix it in or add it on top. Garnish with freshly chopped green onions before serving.
  6. Ladle into bowls and enjoy this creamy wonder with your loved ones.

Notes

Substitutions: Skip the bacon for a vegetarian option or use plant-based cream. Timing: Use faster-cooking potatoes like Yukon Gold for quicker tenderizing. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days or freeze for longer storage. Reheat gently on the stove, adding broth or water if needed.
