Ingredients

Pasta and Meat
  • 8 oz pasta (like penne or fettuccine)
  • 1 lb ground beef (Halal)
Creamy Sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
Vegetables
  • 1 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
Seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Garnish
  • Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Start by boiling a pot of salted water. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water.
Cooking the Beef
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with salt and pepper.
Adding Vegetables
  1. Stir in the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté until the veggies soften, about 3-4 minutes.
Creating the Sauce
  1. Lower the heat, and pour in the heavy cream and Cajun seasoning. Stir well to combine all ingredients. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Combining Everything
  1. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water as needed to achieve your desired sauce consistency.
Serving
  1. Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese before serving hot!

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a non-dairy alternative. To save time, chop vegetables while pasta cooks. Avoid overcooking the pasta for the perfect al dente texture.
