Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 oz pasta (any shape you prefer) Use whole wheat pasta for added nutrition.
  • 4 oz cream cheese Ensure it's halal-friendly.
  • 1 cup pasta cooking water Reserve after cooking pasta.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Can substitute with other cheeses.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Season according to preference.
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional) Enhance flavor with fresh herbs.

Method

Preparation
  1. Boil the Pasta: Start by bringing a pot of water to a boil. Add salt for flavor and toss in your favorite pasta. Cook according to package instructions until the pasta is al dente. Reserve one cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In the same pot, add your cream cheese and the reserved pasta water. Stir over low heat until the cream cheese melts into a smooth sauce (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Combine Everything: Add the drained pasta to the pot, stirring until all the noodles are coated with the creamy sauce. Incorporate the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until it’s melted and combined.
  4. Season: Taste and season with salt and pepper. Optionally add more cheese or cream cheese for extra creaminess.
  5. Serve: Once everything is combined, serve immediately, garnishing with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Cream Cheese Pasta is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, consider freezing it for up to a month. Reheat on the stovetop with a little water or milk to loosen the sauce.
