For the Brownie Layer
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Cream Cheese Layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Stir in the sugar until well combined, then allow to cool slightly before adding the eggs, mixing in one at a time.
  3. Add the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, stirring until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Baking
  1. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, followed by the cream cheese mixture, spread gently. Pour the remaining brownie batter on top and swirl slightly with a knife.
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into squares. Enjoy!
