Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and orange zest to the butter mixture. Mix until fully combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt while mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  5. Fold in the chopped dried cranberries gently, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet and gently flatten them. Leave some space between the cookies, as they will spread slightly.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Once done, allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for better texture. Adjust baking time according to your oven. Experiment with different flavorings, such as lemon zest or other dried fruits.
