Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg large egg
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
Fillings
  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries, chopped Can substitute with dried cranberries if necessary.
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.
  3. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the chopped cranberries, orange zest, and orange juice until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg with the milk until fully blended.
  6. Gradually add the egg and milk mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until you form a soft dough.
  7. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about a minute until smooth.
  8. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick, then roll it up tightly to create a log.
  9. Slice the roll into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

To store leftovers, place in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
