Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.
- Cut in the softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the chopped cranberries, orange zest, and orange juice until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg with the milk until fully blended.
- Gradually add the egg and milk mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until you form a soft dough.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about a minute until smooth.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick, then roll it up tightly to create a log.
- Slice the roll into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
Baking
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
To store leftovers, place in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
