Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 piece turkey breast (approximately 3-4 lbs)
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce (preferably homemade or store-bought) You can also blend fresh cranberries with sugar and a splash of water if needed.
  • 1 orange (zested and juiced)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cranberry sauce, orange juice, orange zest, and brown sugar. Stir until well blended.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, place the turkey breast skin-side down and sear for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Flip it over.
  2. Pour half of the cranberry-orange glaze over the seared turkey breast and reserve the other half for later. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
  3. Roast for about 40-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reads 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part.
  4. About halfway through cooking, baste the turkey with the remaining glaze.
  5. Once cooked, let the turkey rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can prepare the glaze a day in advance for deeper flavors. Store in fridge until ready to use. Avoid overcooking by using a meat thermometer to monitor cooking time.
