Seafood Base
  • 1 pound crab meat (fresh or canned, well-drained)
  • 1 pound shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
Toppings and Vegetables
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or a mix of your favorites)
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper (any color you prefer)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
Seasonings and Extras
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (or your favorite seafood seasoning)

  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (for the topping)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine crab meat, shrimp, cooked rice, sour cream, and half of the shredded cheese. Add green onions, bell pepper, garlic, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with olive oil or non-stick spray.
Assembling and Baking
  1. Pour the seafood mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  2. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, followed by an even layer of breadcrumbs.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and lightly golden.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For substitutions, any seafood can be used; ensure they are halal-friendly. A vegetarian option can replace seafood with sautéed mushrooms or zucchini. Ensure canned crab is drained to avoid excess moisture.
