  • 1 head head of cabbage
  • 4 tablespoons butter Can substitute with olive oil or ghee for a Halal-friendly alternative.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Carefully slice the head of cabbage into approximately 1-inch thick steaks.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  4. On a large baking sheet, arrange the cabbage steaks. Brush both sides with the garlic butter mixture, then season with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the cabbage is tender and nicely caramelized.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

To store leftovers, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for about a month. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
