Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 9 pieces lasagna noodles
Cheese Mixture
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
Sauce and Toppings
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles in boiling water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, egg, dried Italian herbs, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Assembly
  1. Spread a ladleful of marinara sauce in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer three lasagna noodles, half of the cottage cheese mixture, a layer of marinara sauce, and one-third of the mozzarella.
  3. Repeat the layering process, finishing with the last three noodles, remaining sauce, mozzarella, and all of the grated Parmesan.
Baking
  1. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 35 minutes.
  2. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Serving
  1. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are Halal-compliant. For substitutions, consider using ricotta, adding spinach, or topping with fresh basil. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C).
