Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar, then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
- Add the vegetable oil, salt, and egg to the yeast mixture. Stir until combined.
- Gradually mix in the flour, one cup at a time, until the dough is no longer sticky.
- On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- After rising, punch down the dough and roll it into small balls (about the size of a golf ball). Place them on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- As soon as they come out of the oven, brush the tops with melted butter.
Notes
If storing leftovers, use an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for about a week. Reheat in the oven or microwave for best results. Feel free to experiment with flavors by adding herbs or spices to the dough.
