Ingredients

Cookie Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or your hands, form large balls of dough (about 3 tablespoons each) and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
  2. Remove cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For perfect cookies, ensure your butter is at room temperature, do not overmix the flour, and consider chilling the dough for 30 minutes for extra chewiness. You can also customize them by adding nuts or sea salt for a delightful variation.
