Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs At room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round springform pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sweetened condensed milk until smooth, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined, avoiding over-mixing.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, allowing each to blend, and then add the vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve with toppings.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider swapping half of the butter with unsweetened applesauce. Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for evenly baked results. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
