Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup onion, chopped
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Make sure it's halal-compliant
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even cooking.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish or lined loaf pan and form it into a loaf shape about 2 inches high.
Baking
  1. Place the meatloaf in the oven and bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  2. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing, to help keep it juicy.
Serving
  1. Slice the meatloaf and serve it with your favorite sides, like a salad or roasted vegetables.

Notes

For a lighter option, consider using lean ground turkey or chicken. Avoid compacting the meat to maintain a tender texture. You can also add cheese on top during the last 15 minutes of baking for extra flavor.
