Ingredients
  

For the cookies
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (almonds or walnuts)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract make sure it’s halal
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add the all-purpose flour, chopped nuts, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix on low speed until just combined.
  4. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on ungreased baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake the cookies for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are just barely golden.
Finishing Touch
  1. While still warm, roll the cookies in a bowl of granulated sugar mixed with ground cinnamon.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack.

Notes

For nut substitutions, you can use toasted coconut or omit the nuts entirely. Ensure butter is at room temperature for easier mixing. Start checking for doneness 2-3 minutes before the suggested bake time. Consider adding lemon or orange zest for a zesty twist.
