  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Packed
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar For topping

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Optional, adds depth

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer, covering the baking sheet fully.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, stir in the brown sugar until it becomes smooth and slightly bubbling. Allow it to cook for about 3 minutes.
  4. Carefully pour the hot caramel over the arranged crackers, using a spatula to coat them evenly.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 5-6 minutes, watching closely so the caramel doesn’t burn.
  6. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon mixture over the hot caramel.
  7. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
