Ingredients

Churro Dough
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 pieces eggs
Coating and Frying
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Method

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients on a clean work surface.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the water and butter over medium heat.
  3. Once the butter melts, bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
  4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in the flour, salt, and cinnamon until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.
  6. In a deep frying pan, heat up enough oil for frying until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
Cooking
  1. Using a piping bag or a spoon, drop small amounts of the dough into the hot oil.
  2. Fry until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Coating
  1. While they're still warm, toss the churro bites in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon to coat evenly.
  2. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Serving
  1. Serve churro bites with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Experiment with flavors by adding a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla extract to the dough. Fry in small batches to maintain oil temperature for even cooking. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes.
