Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup heavy cream Ensure cream is chilled for optimal volume.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (preferably semi-sweet or dark) Melt carefully to avoid burning.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Preparation
  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir, and repeat until melted and smooth (about 1 minute). Allow it to cool slightly.
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream using a handheld mixer or whisk until it starts to form soft peaks (around 1 minute).
  3. Add the melted chocolate, sugar, and vanilla extract to the whipped cream. Gently fold the mixture until fully combined, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
  4. Spoon the mousse into individual serving dishes and refrigerate for a few minutes if desired. Garnish with your favorite toppings just before serving.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheating is not necessary since it is enjoyed chilled; stir lightly if it settles.
