Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder until well combined. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, soften the unsalted butter and mix it with the granulated sugar until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, blending until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture and mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
- Drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers look a bit soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For creamier cookies, consider substituting some granulated sugar with brown sugar. Keep an eye on the cookies while baking to prevent overbaking.
