Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use dark chocolate chips for richer flavor if desired.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts Optional.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by greasing a square baking dish (8x8 will do). Set it aside for later.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of butter, and 1/4 cup of milk. Over medium heat, stir the ingredients until the mixture comes to a rolling boil.
  3. Once boiling, allow it to simmer for 4-5 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent burning. The mixture should thicken a bit.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly add in 2 cups of chocolate chips and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Stir until completely smooth.
  5. If you’re using chopped nuts, fold them into the mixture now.
  6. Pour the fudge mixture into your prepared baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula. Let it cool to room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set.
  7. Once set, cut it into squares and serve. Enjoy your delicious Chocolate Fudge!
